Is everyone familiar with Palentine Day? The holiday that kicked off in Pasio and popularized to the rest of the regions that happens on one day in February? Well get ready to–

March 14th is the Ulternian Holiday: Return Day!

What is Return Day, you ask?

The name for the holiday came about from the move Pokemon can learn: Return, an attack that grows stronger the more a Pokemon likes its trainer.

Just like the name of the attack, people spend that day to return the gratitude and affection to those who love them back in their lives. Bonus if they have received a gift from them during Palentine’s (which of course, is optional!).

There's no TPP version of White Day, so Alice is on new territory here, but she's more than happy to participate! Since the past few holidays went off without issue, her research hasn't gotten anywhere, but hey, at least she can try and get you all candy or something. Just hope she doesn't try making it herself

SOB, James wasn't here for Palentine's, but he would reeeeeeally love some choco!!! ;O; He'd like to thank the people who helped him, like Chloe, Red, and Alice, but he has no moneyyyy...

I don't think Lillie would be familiar with White Day or equivalents... so new territory for her too! As for what gifts she probably gave, Lillie probably would have cut out little hearts with sweet little messages to encourage her friends, like Ash and Alice.

Who would even gift Buson anything— I guess he could get obligation chocolate, fff. Buson probably would have gifted his friends goofy stuff like joke-y shirts and tacky sunglasses, but he might also give thoughtful gifts or ones that have some utility/function (like warm clothes in winter!)

Mairin has been in Johto, but her crush isn't even in Ultern. ;_; She probably would've gifted her friends though! Clumsily written cards with crayon art, like the Mega Evolution journal omake. Professor Sycamore and X will definitely get one! Maybe Alice too...

Ai would probably have gifted Professor Banyan and Gold. ^^ She can't melt down chocolate, she's too little to be trusted with the stove very much, but maybe she could buy those cute little kits where you squeeze chocolate into little molds and put them briefly in the freezer. Like this one!

Ken definitely gave Buson friendly chocolate as thanks for everything! But as a local celebrity, he probably got a lot of Palentine's presents, so he might be busy earnestly sending all his fans Return gifts all day ^^

Gold will also give a Return gift to Ai! Rather than candy, he'll get her one of those small keychain plushies, probably a Palssio or Seel one since white presents are traditional for Return day. He also got a christmas present from Red on Palentine's day and he has no idea what to do about that...

Aww, Ken. He'll send him white throat lozenges ("Because I figure radio'll dry out your thtoat") and a comfy kariyushi.

Ai will love the little plush, it's so cute! Shr suggedts a plush snowman ("Snow is white!") or Delibird for Red, maybe he just likes that sort of thing?

Ken will feel overwhelmed at getting such a great return gift! His original palentine's gift was probably high-quality chocolates, and some senbei crackers in case Buson wasn't a chocolate fan. He kind of feels like he should get Buson something more in return for the return gift...

Gold will accept Ai's suggestion and not tell her that the reason he was worrying was mostly because 1) it was a christmas present, not palentine's gift, 2) Gold still doesn't know Red or why he keeps giving him plushies? and 3) he doesn't even know where to find Red to give him a present... Still, he'll buy a little Delibird keychain and keep it on him in case he runs into Red.

As a bodybuilder, he loves chocolate! The darker, the better. It's good for reducing inflammation! Chocolate milk's great to have post-workout. But senbei's nostalgic and he'll appreciate it!!!

Ai will be very happy he took her suggestion! ;3; She'd admire the Delbird keychain very much.

Evie would definitely gift to Buson! Her world had her living in America (as it has Johto set in America as per the merge of the two different shows and I always use the localization of the other show), so she probably doesn't know White Day, but she would love it! Eadie might have shown her how to melt down chocolate.

Cutiiiie. Buson's Japanese, but familiar enough with American customs (at least through pop culture!), he'd be happy enough with a card (just imagining an Eevee try to write greeting cards either finger painting with her paws or dragging markers or crayon with her teeth, fff), but if he gets chocolates too, wow!

... and she even melted it down to mold it herself?! He'd be so touched! He'd have to make the treats mixed in with the Pokemon food himself, too, then! ;3; Fortunately, sablés aren't that hard...

Calla is definitely going to be giving everyone flowers, along with small gifts (like the Pokemon equivalent of those chocolate-filled cookies with koalas printed on them). -Look, she has a sweet tooth, and her way of showing she cares is by sharing the things she likes with others!

This is also me blowing the metaphorical dust off her journal for the first time in... months. Eheh.
