I can't seem to keep up with rp or reply in a timely or consistent manner at all, so I think it's best I drop! I will try to finish what I can before I go, but that's it!

I'm sorry for dropping the ball so often and complaining about not being played with on top of it...

I've also deactivated my plurk.

This affects Trip, Lillie, Buson, and everyone else I sporadically played like Mairin and Iris.

Good idea? Bad idea? We'll see! But, I'm bringing in yet another character... this time, an OC! ^o^;;

Serisa is between 4 and 5 years old. She's a bit of a crybaby and used to getting her way, carries her raggedy old Teddiursa Poke Doll everywhere, likes her mama best, and doesn't speak very much, although she can understand human language... she's MUCH more comfortable speaking Pokemon language! Oh, right, did I mention she's part Pokemon and a shapeshifter? She's not very good at controlling her transformations yet, so hiding it causes her some grief...

Hopefully, Ultern's a more welcoming place for her! ♥

(She started off as the kid of from an AU, so she's related to a few other characters here, but in a completely different verse, so, none of them recognize her! Welp... that's pretty standard for Ultern, isn't it?)

Sorry for my slow replies, I've been sick! Still am...

But, I did draw Evie trying on a hanagasa three days ago. ♥ It's a little clumsily drawn and I wanted to make the hanagasa even bigger on her, butI didn't sketch first. ^o^;

Hi! I've been playing little Trip (mostly on event posts and mingle posts, mostly with Gold!), but while I've been having Lillie and Buson age normally (Lillie celebrated a birthday, but Buson's a bit more secretive...), I just realized that if I let eight year old Trip grow, he'd soon be another ten year old Trip, but an AU that still mostly kept his open and cheery disposition from when he was eight, with the naievete of a typical Ulternian, even if he'll always be on the shy and solitary side!

Two drawings of Trip, one as a smaller child as seen in anime flashbacks labelled 8 years old, smiling widely with rosy cheeks and closed eyes. The other is lablled 10 years old, with a similar smile and more relaxed closed eyes. Cheeks still a bit rosy, but skin is a bit tanner. Instead of his anime orange suit jacket and black hoodie and purple undershirt combo, Trip is wearing a white kariyushi (Okinawan equivalent of a Hawaiian shirt, also recognized as formal wear) with a pattern based on the Okinawan Pokemon Center kariyushi. There are deep blue tropical flower patterns and a light blue wavy pattern with stylized poleballs. Yellow silhouettes of Pikachu heads, undetailed, with white cheeks. Over the kariyushi is an open reddish orange (... blood orange?) windbreaker. 10 year old Trip further has several allows pointing to him describing him: "tanned" "sun-protection windbreaker" "you could sell him the Skyarrow Bridge in absence of friends & family" [with two sweatdrops next to the statement]

His kariyushi is based on the Okinawa Pokemon Center Kariyushi Wear Pikachu plush! I think one of the mods has a real kariyushi with the same pattern?

Pikachu plushie with a white kariyushi with tropical flowers in deep blue, light blue curling patterns that also form stylized pokeballs, and yellow silhouettes of Pikachu heads with white cheeks. The Pikachu plush has an open-mouthed smile and stands on its hind legs.

I haven't really been able to reply to much of anything for a week and been feeling out of dwrp for much longer... I think I'll have to go on indefinite hiarus or just drop. It's been a ton of fun, I really liked playing here, I'm just really tired lately and also have some annoying stalking issues (someone broke into this account and changed the password, but not the e-mail, to only sort of symbolically lock me out and show off that they're still breaking into my accounts, I guess), but those aren't new, they just make it less fun.

It was fun building different kinds of CR and taking Buson's character in a direction I never expected when I brought him in here just to cause trouble, ffff. James was also fun with his naturally very theatric personality... Lillie got some sweet threads too. Trip also had some very nice threads where he learned more about friendship and got off his high Ponyta and accepted help.

I still love this setting and the creativity it inspired, it even inspired like two PSLs based on this setting and its Pokemon and everything!

I was happy to see a subbed clip from this episode shared (two of my James' icons come from scenes in this clip, including this icon!), because this Diamond & Pearl episode is so important for how I write James alone. This is basically James' mood in Ultern... ^o^;

This is also the episode where Kojiro/James and Musashi/Jessie's promise to meet again if there is another world after they die came from. ♥ It's a beautiful episode.

What is Return Day, you ask?

The name for the holiday came about from the move Pokemon can learn: Return, an attack that grows stronger the more a Pokemon likes its trainer.

Just like the name of the attack, people spend that day to return the gratitude and affection to those who love them back in their lives. Bonus if they have received a gift from them during Palentine’s (which of course, is optional!).

As usual any comments, concerns and questions feel free to shoot it our way! And feel free to make any plans with your fellow players too! 😊

Hi, it's Lala again, I haven't been active in a while and pretty much only play Buson and Lillie with any regularity, but I decided to bring in a new (very old, actually, he's one of the first characters I roleplayed ever... I used to pretty much exclusively play the TRio!) muse, James! It's been fun playing him again on memes lately and while Jessie is my favourite, I'm not too shabby at playing James! He's a liiiittle bit dated, he's more of the classic comedic OS->DP era James. I'm not very good at the more serious and competent BW! James, even if BW!'s my favourite series, so, this is pre-promotion James, perpetually just barely scraping by. ^o^;

(I can play off of the original and the dub, but for familiarity's sake, we'll go mainly with dub for dialogue as that's the version most people are familiar with and because his voice is very different between the two versions, although his personality and backstory's fortunately largely the same. ^^)

Off hiatus!

I've missed writing Volo so I'm planning to bring him back in small doses. Might be less active with

bashou ~~but that's mostly because he's so reclusive and unsociable anyway~~.

I wasn't planning on picking up old tags because I've lost track but if anyone has a thread they want to continue please let me know, I'll be happy to do that once I've refreshed my memory!

Player Plot - Identity Reveal

So, Brinda and Nathaniel have been here for a while now, and have managed to carefully dance around the fact of Brinda's true nature. However, that can't hold forever, so I want to do some kind of player plot that involves this being revealed.

I currently have two ideas-either Brinda ends up revealing their identity to certain characters in private, or some larger disaster causes them to have to reveal it to a large group of people. I'm curious as to what you guys would prefer and if you're interested in your characters being part of the private reveal in the first option. Assumed CR is not required!

Winter Wonder Event + Plotting Post!

Before we go into the talk about the event we would like to take this time to thank everyone for their patience on how quiet/slow things have been on our end. We also hope everyone is having a wonderful winter holiday season!

Speaking of which… what's this? There's news and rumors about Delibirds peeking around places in Ultern? From the forests to the cities to even the harbor?

For those not new, and to those that are: it's just a yearly routine for the Delibirds preparing for everyone's favorite Winter Wonder holiday! They're setting out presents for everyone--or, they would be anyway.

Seeing as how there's been nothing but trouble as of late during a holiday event this is no exception! If things have gone as normal the Delibirds would be out passing or leaving behind a cute little present to all and Articuno showing up at some point to blanket Ultern in snow which is a very lovely sight!

Unfortunately… this year on DECEMBER 25th 12 AM CST the event will kick off with a certain Pokemon Doctor in dire distress. Moreso than he was the prior year before. Just why could that be? Well, stay tuned to find out!

Also speaking of which: for the hanging threads on the previous event this is absolutely this mod's fault. General workflow due to the holiday and burn out made me chew more than I can--so for those who wish to wrap up the thread please let me know!

Okay, okay, I'm double-posting, sorry, but I have more drawings.

radleyslittleevie is one of two on Bashou's (very, very short) approved guest list for his and Buson's new home. ♥ Manzana is the other one, naturally!

... so he can witness more Buson doting on Evie and tossing and catching her like a baby, while being very confused, like "who even is this...", pfft.

bashou sometimes straightening his hair (and sometimes even lacking the little ear-like tufts!), couldn't help but draw what that might look like...

Buson: … your head looks so smooth, like it’d squeak if you rubbed it, like a… like a bowling ball or a pachinko ball—
Bashou: Don’t even think about it.

RP-inspired art

Not something we wound up writing into the (now completed! 🎉 ... even if, uh, it ends in one death and a pyrrhic victory) thread in the Shimmerstone Cave, but something Simone talked about OOC-ly, like Bashou & Buson having a moment where they're dealing with rampaging wild Pokemon and consider handling it like kind little Evie would... and then unanimously go yeah, no, and just escape, PFFT. (To be fair, running away and even battling when necessary is also Evie-approved, their mental image of Evie is a bit more exaggerated, fff.)

Aaand a summery Ultern drawing of Buson comfortably napping despite the heat, while Bashou's baffled and fanning himself. (Boshu uchiwa and Kyo uchiwa because I couldn't decide which fan he should have.)

Hiatus notice!

Just a quick post to announce I'm taking a break with both Bashou and

unchcsen (Volo). For the past few months I've been struggling to find time for RP due to work and other hobbies, and I feel like it's time to step back for now, rather than taking several weeks between tags/replies.

I also haven't been very active on Plurk lately but I am usually around on Discord (balrog.boogie) if anyone wants to chat!

Hiatus/slowatus officially ended, I'm on vacation (just for two weeks, but more importantly...), I finished my time as a locum physician in a very rural hospital, so I have wi-fi again!!! ^^

Hello, everyone, this is Lamees A.K.A. Lala (Buson/Attila, Lillie, Iris, Shootie/Trip, Fuji Ai/Amber Fuji, and Langley/Georgia's player)! I'm on hiatus as my rural hospital sent me to an even smaller village's hospital.
There were no taxis and limited (initially, only Burger King for an international chain, fff) restaurants with takeout there... here, there's no taxis, no takeout/delivery (at least none associated with HungerStation or Jahez), and not even wi-fi at the dormitory/hostel!

As such, it's very hard for me to reply to anything, moreover, I initially forgot my backpack with my chargers and wallet and things (picked it up today on a life-saving case back to my hospital!)... schedule's weird right now, I'm not used to ER night shifts, ever, although this hospital fortunately sees less patients than the one I work for.

Anyway, for the above reason and all the moving around, I can't do much roleplaying or anything right now! I'm quite busy, but the staff are so friendly and sweet. I like it here. ^^

Hi, guys! I hate posting so soon after joining the comm, but you might have noticed I haven't been tagging back much (...or... at all... recently). I've had a really loaded October (including the loss of a relative and ✨midterms✨), so things have been a little hectic, but I'll hopefully be back sometime during the second week of November!

Thanks to everyone who's replied to Colress's post so far! Looking forward to writing with folks when I'm not dealing with 12 things at once.

Harvesting Bonds Festival 2023

EVENT DURATION: OCTOBER 25 ~ OCTOBER 31

The Harvesting Bonds Festival and Calyrex are back again but there's a twist lurking around the corner! What is the twist? Tune in during the day of the event to find out for more details! Of course like last time Ulternians and drifters alike are coming together to decorate, dress up and share food with one another! It's a big party all over the Ultern!

In fact there's a lot more ghost and dark type Pokemon out to play too. It's not a surprising sight to see Pokemon both tamed and wild dressed up for the occasion! What a good time everyone will be having!

Note, that the date for this event has been shortened to a week now! It will kick off starting on the 25th of this Month!

Friendly (?) scientist incoming

Ulsai! I'm a bit of a DWRP newbie, but I picked up Colress on a whim recently after getting all nostalgic about Gen 5. While I was poking around EMP, I saw this community had posted an ad, and, well... here I am!

My Colress has roots primarily in BW2 game canon, but I take a little influence from Pokémon Special too (especially Colress and Interpol coming to a mutually beneficial arrangement — it would account for why he hasn't been apprehended by the Powers That Be, lol). You can see his current team here, although he's interested in learning more about Ultern's unique locations, inhabitants, and everything else it has to offer in the way of research as well. After all, we're talking about the guy who was "so engrossed in my research that I didn't get a wink of sleep last night"!

Anyway, that's it. I might post a starter or tag around in the next few days, depending on IRL factors. I can be reached here via PM or on Discord once I get to know people a little more. Until then, thanks for reading!
